A cleaner way to settle, store and bottle your harvest

Every harvest ends the same way. The extractor is empty, the frames are back in the shed, and you are left with honey that still needs to settle and find its way into jars. Food buckets do the job for a while, but pouring from one into a jar without losing some over the side takes a steadier hand than most of us have at the end of a long day.

This 25kg honey tank is the tidier way to handle that last stage. It is made from 0.60mm SS304 food-grade stainless steel with a plastic honey gate at the base, a lockable lid and carrying handles on both sides.

Why stainless steel over plastic

SS304 is the same grade of stainless used in commercial food equipment. It will not rust, will not stain, and will not hold onto smells from a previous batch. Plastic buckets pick up scratches over time, and those scratches trap residue no matter how well you wash them. Stainless wipes clean in minutes and will still be in service long after a stack of buckets has been replaced.

Bottling straight from the tank

The plastic honey gate at the base turns bottling into a one-handed job. Sit a jar underneath, open the gate, and close it again when the jar is full. Gravity does the work, so there is no lifting a full bucket and no honey running down the outside of anything. Filling a batch of jars for market becomes a calm half hour instead of a sticky wrestling match.

Settling, storage and keeping the bees out

Give extracted honey a day or two in the tank and the fine air bubbles from the extractor rise to the surface, leaving clearer honey below the gate. The lockable lid matters more than it sounds. It keeps out dust and moisture, and during a dearth it stops robbing bees and ants from finding their way into your harvest. The handles on each side make it manageable to move, though a full tank is a two-person lift.

The optional double-layer filter

Choose the tank with the filter and you can strain and store in a single step. The filter sits in the top of the tank, with a coarser layer catching wax and larger debris and a finer layer underneath picking up the rest. Pour straight from the extractor and what settles in the tank is already clean enough to bottle. If you have your own straining setup, the tank-only option skips it and saves you a few dollars.

What is a 25kg honey tank used for?

It holds extracted honey while it settles, then lets you bottle straight into jars through the honey gate at the base.

Is SS304 stainless steel food safe?

Yes. SS304 is the same food-grade stainless used in commercial food equipment. It will not rust, stain, or hold smells from a previous batch.

Why choose stainless steel over plastic?

Plastic buckets pick up scratches that trap residue no matter how well you wash them. Stainless wipes clean in minutes and lasts far longer.

How long should honey settle in the tank?

A day or two. Fine air bubbles from the extractor rise to the surface, leaving clearer honey below the gate ready to bottle.

Does the honey tank come with a filter?

The double-layer filter is optional. You can buy the tank on its own, or add the filter to strain honey as you pour it in.

How does the double-layer filter work?

It sits in the top of the tank. A coarser layer catches wax and larger debris, and a finer layer underneath picks up the rest.

Do I need the filter if I already strain?

No. If you have your own straining setup, the tank-only option skips the filter and saves you a few dollars.

What is the honey gate made from?

The honey gate at the base of the tank is plastic. Open it, fill your jar, and close it again with one hand.

Does the lid lock to keep bees out?

Yes. The lockable lid keeps out dust and moisture, and during a dearth it stops robbing bees and ants reaching your harvest.

Can one person lift a full honey tank?

A full 25kg tank is a two-person lift. Carrying handles on both sides make it manageable to move when shared.
