3. Application & Care

• Unpack your flat-packed hive box.
• Assemble the box by simply applying glue to the finger-joints, interlocking them, and securing them with screws in the pre-drilled holes. This takes only a few minutes.
• Before use, always paint the outer part of the hive box to protect it from UV damage and moisture.
• For best results,apply one coat of water-based primer and two coats of paint. (white or pastel colors recommended for less heat absorption)
• Do not paint the inside - bees always prefer natural wood and may avoid painted interiors.
• Regularly check for moisture buildup within the box to maintain hive health.
• Annually inspect for any kind of wear and re-paint or re-insulate the exposed edges of the box to extend its shelf-life.
