Melt, Hold and Pour a Full Batch Without Touching a Ladle

Anyone who has made candles on a stovetop knows where the process falls apart. It's not the melting, it's the twenty minutes after, when the wax starts skinning over, jars are only half filled, and you're ladling hot wax with one hand while holding a wick straight with the other. Most people put up with it because a double boiler is what they started with.

This melter is where candle making stops being fiddly. It holds 8 litres, heats on an 1800w element, sits on a thermostat adjustable from 30 to 100 degrees, and drains through a stainless ball valve at the base so you fill jars directly from the tap. It arrives with 200 pre-waxed wicks, wick holders, sticker dots and a spoon.

The Tap Is the Part That Changes Everything

A ball valve opens and closes fully with a quarter turn, so it doesn't clog like a spout or small gate valve. Slide a jar under it, open the tap, fill to the line, shut it off. No ladle, no jug, no transferring hot wax across a bench, and the pour rate stays consistent from the first jar to the last.

Temperature Control, and Why It Matters More Than Power

Wax has a working range, and going past it costs you. Fragrance oils burn off above their flash point, beeswax darkens if overcooked, and soy poured too hot leaves frosting and wet spots. The dial runs 30 to 100 degrees, so you can melt at the top of the range then hold it steady at pouring temperature, the part a saucepan simply can't do.

Capacity and Heat-Up Time

Eight litres holds around six kilos of wax per melt, a full production run for small candle businesses or a season of gifts for hobbyists. At the top of the range it takes roughly five minutes to melt a kilo of soy, and smaller amounts melt faster.

Insulated Body and Safe Handling

Foam insulation keeps the outer shell cool to touch while the wax stays at working temperature, and cycles the element less often to hold a set point. The wax and tap still get hot in use, so keep it on a stable bench away from the edge, children and pets, treated like a deep fryer.

What This Melter Is Not Built For

Built for clean wax, blocks, pellets, flakes and old candle stubs. Raw cappings straight from the hive are not suitable, slumgum and propolis will settle at the bottom right where the valve draws from. Render cappings separately first, then bring clean blocks to this pot.

Beeswax, Soy and the Wax Option at Checkout

Handles beeswax, soy, paraffin, coconut blends and hard wax without any setup change. Beeswax melts around 62 to 64 degrees, soy sits lower. Add 3kg of beeswax or soy wax at checkout, or select no wax if you already have stock. Wax isn't included by default.
